Females are often overlooked in the game of golf. There are substantially more male than female golfers and the PGA is the center for golf, and the PGA is all male. Golf represents much more than just performance. It gets people together with their friends or introduces them to people they’ve never met before. Golf gives people the passion to obtain lower scores. It is good exercise (if they do not use a cart) and gets people outside. Golf is a life sport. And this is why it is important to get everyone involved with golf, not just men. England Golf sees the opportunity to get more women playing the game. They created the Girl Golf Rocks program to get boost female participation in the sport. The program teamed up with literally hundreds of clubs across the UK for support and help host events for the program. England Golf is utilizing their social media accounts to promote Girls Golf Rocks and the events it holds. They continue to release new posts every week about new events for Girls Golf Rocks to remind people. They also include links in the caption section to help girls navigate to the correct page to sign up. I think England Golf is doing a great thing for females and the game of golf by pushing such programs.
